What we collect when you use wordsearchtwist.com, why, and how to ask us about it.
If you use the Contact page, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit, so we can reply to you.
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall traffic. It's cookieless and collects no personal data - only aggregate counts like page views and load times, which can't be tied back to you. We also record puzzle usage - whether a puzzle was viewed, started, or completed - to understand how the puzzles are used. Each record includes an anonymous session identifier and the puzzle involved, but no name, email, or account information. We use your IP address momentarily to work out which country you're visiting from, then discard it - we never store the IP address itself, only the resulting country.
Contact form details are used solely to read and respond to your message. Analytics data is used to understand how the site as a whole is used, not to track individuals.
Contact form submissions are deleted once we've replied to you by email.
Puzzle usage records (view/start/complete events, session identifier, country) are retained to track trends over time and are not linked back to any individual.
We don't sell or share your information with third parties. The site is hosted with Hostinger, and Cloudflare provides the analytics described above - neither receives your contact form details. Country lookups are performed locally on our own server using an offline database; your IP address is never sent to a third party for this purpose.
You can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at any time via the Contact page.
WordsearchTwist is operated by Habits and Quirks, based in Guernsey, and handles data in line with the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017.
